YOGA & PILATES WITH CAMELIA OBEROI

CAMELIA OBEROI

Pilates Instructor

BACKGROUND

“Do you have the patience to wait

Till your mud settles and the water is clear?

Can you remain unmoving

Till the right action arises by itself?”

* Lao Tsu

Trained in ballet and modern jazz dance, practising yoga for the past 12 years and having completed a 200hr yoga TTC, a graphic designer, a biodynamic cranio-sacral practitioner (www.bcst.in), a pilates instructor (trained in MAT Pilates by Balanced Body) by profession, it seems all of my trainings and experiences have brought me to experience that very quality of stillness through movement.

All my principles come from movement, be it dance, pilates or yoga. To move in union with your body and breath. As Joseph Pilates would call it ‘a relaxed effort’.

That is when you know that you are moving from a space of awareness, in that space, with focus and presence, there is no scope for you to injure yourself.

My Teaching Style

I like to focus on form and alignment before all else. Form, which is precise yet fluid and graceful. And most importantly, I always end all my classes with shavasana or guided meditation to allow your body to come back to a state of equilibrium.

As B.K.S.Iyengar said

Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.
